I am part of a bible study group who meets on Thursday's and one of our discussions was on the meaning of names. Which got me thinking what do my children's names mean? Well, my first born is named Andrew which means "Manly or Strong." That fits him, he's the first with 7 and 10 years respectively on his brothers. He has become kind of a third caregiver for them. My second son is Rhett meaning "enthusiastic" is exactly how he lives life. Finally Josh means "God is salvation." Josh is named after a high school friend of my husbands who passed away from a farming accident.
So, I've done it...started a blog with no idea what I'm doing. The first thing you have to choose is a name. Should be easy right, but finding the right name that describes what your writing about when you just want to write about life isn't so easy. Like naming anything or anyone you put a lot of thought into this process. You want it to be absolutely perfect. I mean all names mean something, so what did I want the name of my blog to say about what I was writing? What was I going to be writing? Have you ever had days when something sticks with you? A thought, something your kids said or did, an idea you wanted to pursue, a recipe you couldn't wait to try, a person who affected you, anything? That's what I wanted to write about. The things that my brain won't shut off, I'm excited about or fear, the stuff that for some reason takes precedence over everything else. Now how do I choose the name? My first few ideas must have been pretty good, because they were already taken. So, The McMasters' Life is born to bring you, the reader, some of the things that take a hold of me and won't let me go.
