We all have comfort zones where we would like to stay safe and well comfortable. Although, when we step out of those comfort zones is when growth really starts to happen. All of our major mile stones are all areas of our lives where we branched out of our comfort zones and did something we might not have thought possible. Walking, starting kindergarten, going to a first dance, as an Air Force brat moving every couple of years, graduating high school and going to college or other venture, getting married and or divorced, and so on.
I am at a point where I need to step out of my comfort zone, again. Rather than keeping to myself, stepping out and setting myself up for the judgement of others. My first step was starting this blog. Although I don't know what I'm doing just yet, I am learning. Tonight I setup a Facebook page for this blog and put this page out there. This may not seem like a big deal, but exposing myself to people I don't know, is easier than to everyone I do know. Opening up to be, in a sense, shut down.
My second step out of my comfort zone was becoming a Beachbody coach. Still don't know what I'm doing, which is a step out of comfort zone in and of itself. Again, I'm learning, going through the training, and taking steps to get moving.
What I do know is these steps are in a positive and exciting direction. I know I'll grow from this and get better as I go. Lesson one, I'm doing what I enjoy and writing what I know. I'll learn my strengths and work on my weaknesses. Growth comes from pushing yourself, stepping out of your comfort zones, and trying something you've wanted to do, but holding back. It's all part of the journey.
