Plugged In and Tuned Out

Our house has been taken over and our poor wifi router can't keep up. Electronics and technology has taken over our house and our lives. Our TV and DVD hook up to the Internet, we have two smart phones, a IPad, two IPods, two laptops, two wireless printers, a Wii, a Xbox, and a kindle. My kids are plugged and tuned out. I'm not proud of that but that's where we are at.

Finding a solution isn't as easy as just saying power down or set time limits. With today's devices we have lost the ability to carry on a conversation. I had to giggle the other day when my husband and boys sat in the living room to eat lunch with the TV off. It just goes to show were our lives are at.

Its time to detox from our electronics and refresh our time together. Yet unlike any other addiction (yes, I think our household is addicted to electronics) we won't be able to go cold turkey. Besides my blog, my Beachbody coaching is also done online so I do have to some work online. I think I'll have to install a step by step program over the next week or so.

As I take my family through the process I will blog what we tried, what worked, what didn't, and how my family responded. It won't be easy and I'll have search for ways to to make this work. If you have any ideas let me know. Is this something you are experiencing at your house?
