Summer Baseball

It's been a month since school got out here. Let the busyness of summer begun. My boys have been having baseball practice twice a week and games start on Friday. For most people running to games, partaking in the the concession stand, hitting up some fast food, crazy schedules are all part of the fun. Unfortunately, for me and my family it's not all so easygoing.

My husband works for a family trucking company hauling sand and gravel. Which means this is his busiest time. Juggling schedules gets harder when I never know what his schedule is going to be like. More times then not, my work schedule is more flexible so I drive the boys here and there. This year I can share taxiing duty with my sister in law who has boys on the same teams.

Food becomes my second and biggest hurtle. I was diagnosed with celiacs about four years ago, which makes eating anywhere but at home difficult. I have overcome most of this by packing meals in a rolling cooler which saves on concessions and keeps my family on a healthy lifestyle.

Summer baseball is fun and it is fantastic to see how much the boys improve each year. Their love of the game, regardless of the sport they're playing, and the dedication to be their best makes it all worthwhile.  Is there a summer sport on your schedule?
