Schedules

Sometimes I wonder if we are too busy. Do you get that feeling? Like you have to schedule R&R, yet when you do you feel like you should be doing something. I started this blog with a self commitment to write everyday about something that occurred to me, and allowed me to connect with readers who may be going through the same things. Yet, life lately seems to be getting in the way or giving me an excuse to just do it tomorrow.

Over the last two weeks we have had two school concerts, a mother/daughter supper at our church, 6th grade heritage day, and two day football camp. On top of that I am helping with a challenge group, getting in two workouts four days a week, planning vacation bible school, getting ready for boys baseball, registered the boys for church camps, planning learning activities for my boys over the summer, and setting up drum lessons.

I look at our schedules and wonder if we are getting too busy. We run and run, half the time I don't know if we are coming or going. My kids are busy and enjoy being involved in various activities. Doing a lot of these activities means spending time with friends and kids their age. There is not a lot of kids from their classes living in town, so other than school they don't see friends as often as they'd like.

To balance things we try to get to our lake cabin as often as possible over the summer months. When our schedules don't allow for that to happen we use our fire pit and outdoor movie screen with our projector and spend time together without phones or distractions. How do you unwind with your family?
