Every year we see posts and status' reflecting what the people in our lives are thankful for during the month of November. This is not to say that people aren't thankful throughout the year, there's just something about this time of year that brings our thankfulness to the fore front.
So while being thankful may make for short posts, for day one I am thankful for the imagination and creativity of our teachers.
This year has been a difficult one for my fourth grader who butts heads with his teacher. According to my 9 year-old "schools just not fun" this year, therefore he's been inattentive, irritable, and disruptive. His teacher on the other hand is willing to try and do just about anything to help improve the situation. To go hand in hand with the teacher, our principle is also willing to try creative solutions to improve the classroom environment. From stress balls, yoga balls, a robotic Lego's club, a "cool off" desk, playing catch, and even video games they have suggested, tried, and continue to try to engage a kid who has struggled to enjoy school this year.
