Since I didn't have a chance to get my reason for bringing thankful done yesterday I am combining yesterday and today. I am thankful for hope and happiness. Let me start with hope. As a mom I have many hopes for my children; that they stay healthy, that they do well in their schooling and career, that they are successful in whatever profession they choose, that they find love. You can't help but have hopes for your children when your a parent. But, my biggest hope is that I am teaching them something; something about being a good person, about how to treat people, about integrity and excellence, about taking care of yourself, about Christ, things that will stay with them the rest of their lives.
I am also thankful for the happiness that comes from watching them grow and become their own person. Seeing them at their highest points and being the one they come to at their lowest. Hearing our morning goodbyes of "Bye, I love you, see ya later" or even "I love you" out of the blue. My children surprise me everyday, in good and bad ways, and watching them grow beings me the greatest happiness. Nothing in the world could ever replace the feelings I have found being a parent and I am thankful everyday for the happiness they bring me.
