It's that final countdown with less than a week until both Christmas and our oldest wedding we are finishing up the small stuff this weekend and weekdays to come.
Yesterday, my husband and I spent nine hours finishing Christmas shipping and picking up a few things for our sons reception. For my husband nine hours of shopping is like a personal record. Crazy drivers and crowded stores are not my husbands cup of tea and we ran across plenty of both.
Today, we had our Christmas program for Sunday school at our morning service. Afterwards I managed to get a batch of gingerbread men, almond bark pretzels, and three dozen snickers cookies made up. Part for home, part for my youngest's class party, part for the hot chocolate table at our oldest's wedding reception.
The next few days will be just as busy with food order pick ups, confirming that everything has been covered, cleaning for guests, and setting up extra beds.
I love the holidays, but this year I may need to go on vacation once this over.
