About three weeks ago we had to start the biggest remodel project we have done in the ten years we have lived here.
With water backing up the floor drain in the basement, and the washer anytime we ran the dishwasher or washed clothes it was far past time to do something. After two plumbers couldn't clear the lines and finding more and more clay in the floor drain we knew we had to dig up the concert along one wall. The longest wall in the basement.
So renovation began and discovering that the pipes under our concert had completely disintegrated. We had to remove all the plumbing in the floor from our laundry room on one end of basement to the bathroom just about to the other end.
The up side, ripping out and replacing the old rotted out shower stall, replacing the flooring, finishing a room for the middle son and getting to basically finish our basement. In the meantime we are living in the chaos of having half our home under construction. Dirt, dust, clutter, and everything being shifted from here to there. I see the lights at the end of the tunnel with three of six areas almost complete. I'm so excited to see the finished project!
