Childhood

I always thought I had a "normal" childhood. Until I became an adult and realized that while lots of people grow up the way I did, no one in our home town did. I grew up an Air Force Brat. My dad went into the Air Force when I was a year old and retired after I graduated high school. My brothers and I grew up as each other's best friends until high school. Who else are you going to play with when you move every 3-4 years. I went to seven schools kindergarten to high school and lived in 4 states and 1 overseas country. I loved it. Even as an adult I miss moving to new places, meeting new people, and experiencing new things. 🛩🛣🏰

We grew up unknowingly learning and living by the Air Force core values. Excellence in all you do, hey if your going to do something do it to the best of your abilities. Service before self, sometimes there are things that come before your wants; like commitments to people, groups, organizations, or work. Integrity, doing the right thing when no one is looking. Hey, if your doing something you don't want anyone to find out about, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

I've tried to live this way always and teach my kids to do the same.  These values are important to me because they've become a part of my foundation of life. 👨👩👦👦

So give life 110%, put others first, and live like everyone's watching. 😎
