It never fails. If I rush around getting ready for the day and run late the rest of my day tends to follow suit. I spend the day feeling like no matter what I do I can't catch up and something always seems to happen to put me further behind.
I read a quote that says "Your first ritual that you do durning the day is the highest leveraged ritual, by far, because it had the effect of setting your mind, and setting the context, for the rest of your day."~ Eben Pagan.
In other words how you start your day sets up how you feel and how you think your day is going for the rest of the day. Well, now my bad mornings = bad days theory makes sense. Yet I never thought about in an every morning context before. As I think about it the more it makes since. When I wake up sluggish and tired, my days drag into what feels like weeks. The opposite goes for when I wake up rested and ready to face to the day, the day in turn is productive and speeds by. But I'm curious in one or two words (tired, sluggish, grateful, energized, motivated, etc.) how'd you start your day today and how did your day go (slow, fast, felt blessed/grateful, productive, etc.).
The realization that how start my day sets up the rest of my day has caused me to relook at how I am starting off my days. As well as asking myself how can I set myself up for a good day first thing in the morning. It's still something I need to workout, but it's definitely something I'll be looking into.
