My Writing Journey

When I started this blog I thought I would have endless ideas about what to write, like the everyday adventures we get thorough. I like to write so this should easy right? Well, not so much. I end my very normal work day come home and sit here with nothing to write. Or an idea would hit halfway through my work day, usually at a time when I can't write anything down, and I could have a wonderfully written piece in my head. Yet, by the time I got home I'd have forgotten what I was going to write.  Nevermind  the hoards of readers I thought I was going to acquire have yet to be acquired.

For a part time hobby that I was hoping would turn into a part time job things are not going as planned.  Although, I have learned a thing or two in the year or so since I started this blog. One, you don't have to be an expert, you just need to connect with people. Two, the best way to connect with people is to be yourself. Three, and the one I have the most trouble with, be consistent.

Since I don't feel like an expert in anything the first ones easy.  The problem I encountered was that I felt I needed to write something informative, I was missing my objective to write about everyday stuff. I hadn't learned or made a mental connection with connecting to people by being myself. You would think that being yourself would be the easiest part. Well, not quite. I wanted to make a good impression and to write something that would make an impact on my readers. Consistency is my down fall, mostly because I can't think of anything "important" to write about.

So my writing journey continues, with bumps, u-turns, detours, and red lights. I'll keep in mind the lessons I've learned, learn a few more along the way. And hopefully find my way to make writing a success.
